XDJ-AZ 1.30 Adds TIDAL DirectPlay
XDJ-AZ Firmware 1.30 Expands Standalone Streaming
AlphaTheta’s XDJ-AZ firmware 1.30 is a significant workflow update for DJs using the all-in-one system as a standalone hub. The update adds StreamingDirectPlay for TIDAL, giving AZ users another direct cloud music option without relying on a laptop running DJ software.
The official AlphaTheta firmware notes list the 1.30 update as released on April 9, 2026, with new support for TIDAL StreamingDirectPlay, QR-code login, 4-deck display in enlarged waveform view, internet firmware updates, and simultaneous login with multiple rekordbox CloudDirectPlay and streaming service accounts.
Why TIDAL DirectPlay Matters
Streaming inside DJ software is now normal. Streaming directly from standalone hardware is the more important booth workflow shift. With TIDAL StreamingDirectPlay, the XDJ-AZ becomes more useful for DJs who want cloud access without treating the laptop as the center of the setup.
This does not remove the need for a properly prepared local library. Streaming still depends on account status, network reliability, and catalog availability. But for requests, discovery, warm-up sets, and flexible event work, direct hardware streaming is becoming a practical part of modern DJ setups.
QR Login and Multi-Account Support Reduce Booth Friction
The QR-code login addition is small but important. Signing into cloud services on a touchscreen can be slow, especially in a booth or shared setup. QR login makes the process more phone-friendly.
Multi-account login support is also notable. AlphaTheta says firmware 1.30 supports simultaneous login with multiple rekordbox CloudDirectPlay and streaming service accounts. That is useful for shared rigs, back-to-back sets, and venues where more than one DJ may need access to their own cloud library.
4-Deck Waveform View Gets Better
The update also adds 4-deck display support in enlarged waveform view. For DJs using the AZ as more than a simple two-deck system, this makes the screen more useful when layering loops, acapellas, and additional decks.
The Takeaway
XDJ-AZ firmware 1.30 is not just a maintenance patch. It pushes the AZ further toward a cloud-connected standalone workflow where streaming, rekordbox CloudDirectPlay, multi-account access, and onboard updates all live directly on the unit.
As always, DJs should update at home, verify their streaming logins, test exported USBs, and keep a local backup library ready before relying on new firmware at a live event.
