Lexicon
Lexicon is a dedicated DJ library management application designed to solve one of the most persistent pain points in DJing: managing music collections across multiple DJ software platforms. It serves as a universal translation layer between rekordbox, Serato DJ, Traktor, VirtualDJ, Engine DJ, and other DJ applications, ensuring that library data transfers accurately between platforms.
The core problem Lexicon addresses is DJ software lock-in. DJs who have spent years curating their libraries in one application — setting cue points, loops, beat grids, ratings, tags, and playlists — face enormous friction when switching to a different platform or when they need to perform on hardware that requires a different software ecosystem. Lexicon imports library data from any supported DJ software and exports it to any other, translating cue points, beat grids, playlists, tags, and other metadata between the different formats each application uses.
Beyond cross-platform transfer, Lexicon provides powerful library cleanup tools. It can detect and fix issues like incorrect tags, missing artwork, duplicate tracks, broken file paths, inconsistent genres, and tracks missing from playlists. The batch editing system allows DJs to modify metadata across thousands of tracks simultaneously — changing genres, adding tags, fixing artist names, and organizing collections efficiently.
Smart playlists and crate management in Lexicon use rule-based filtering that automatically sorts tracks based on BPM, key, genre, date added, rating, play count, and custom tags. DJs can create sophisticated organizational structures in Lexicon and export them to their DJ software, maintaining a clean, well-organized library across all platforms.
Lexicon includes a built-in audio player for previewing tracks during library management, waveform display for verifying cue points and beat grids, and album art management. The software runs on Windows and macOS and is available as a subscription service. For professional DJs who perform on multiple platforms, or for any DJ who takes library organization seriously, Lexicon has become an indispensable tool that saves countless hours of manual library maintenance.
