Serato 4.0.7 Adds Hercules 200 MK3

Serato DJ Pro 4.0.7 widens the beginner-to-pro path

Serato’s latest DJ Pro update is not a headline-grabbing stem overhaul or library redesign, but it matters for one of the fastest-growing parts of the DJ market: affordable beginner controllers that can grow into paid professional software. According to Serato’s official download page, Serato DJ Pro 4.0.7 adds support for the Hercules DJControl Inpulse 200 MK3.

The Inpulse 200 MK3 is positioned as a compact two-deck learning controller, but Serato’s support page confirms it can be used with Serato DJ Pro as a paid upgrade device. That gives new DJs a cleaner upgrade route: start on bundled entry-level software, then move into the same Serato library, Stems workflow, and club-facing ecosystem used on higher-end rigs.

What changed in 4.0.7?

  • Official support for the Hercules DJControl Inpulse 200 MK3.
  • A fix for driver download links not always working.
  • A fix for streaming tracks that could be missing audio after being fully downloaded.

Serato’s Inpulse 200 MK3 quickstart guide also notes an important setup detail: the controller is class compliant on macOS, while Windows users need the manufacturer-specific driver bundled with Serato DJ Pro.

Why DJs should care

The big story is not just “one more controller supported.” It is that entry-level gear is increasingly being treated as a serious on-ramp into pro software. Hercules has been leaning hard into learning features, while Serato’s paid-upgrade support means a beginner can keep familiar hardware for longer instead of replacing everything the moment they outgrow Lite.

For mobile DJs, livestreamers, and bedroom DJs on a budget, 4.0.7 is worth installing if you use the Inpulse 200 MK3 or rely heavily on streaming. As always, test the update with your controller and streaming services before using it at a paid gig.
